delusion |diˈloō zh ən| (noun)
an idiosyncratic belief or impression that is firmly maintained despite being contradicted by what is generally accepted as reality or rational argument, typically a symptom of mental disorder : the delusion of being watched.
• the action of deluding someone or the state of being deluded : what a capacity television has for delusion.
As a studying social worker, I was quite surprised to discover that delusional behavior or episodes occur in only about 1% of the total population. There is, obviously, absolutely nothing funny about this rare disorder, if a person indeed suffers from it. So, it is not with humor that I suppose that if you are a sufferer from delusions probably you could consider yourself quite lucky and definitely in a very small fragment or fraction of the total population.
I was once asked by a deep friend and also a close relative the question, “why YOU?” In other words, why would you be picked out of all of the people in the world…(in my sister’s words).. …you’re a nobody, poor, [meaning no tangible resources] so why would “they” pick YOU?” At the time, I could only quietly ‘murmur’…”I don’t know.” But that was not the truth at all. I actually knew “why”… It is because I am {or, rather was} a………’character’ …as the saying goes. Or, rather simply put, I have been or usually portrayed…”numerous” characters. But, I am digressing or as Judge Judy said, I am “putting the cart before the horse.” I will need to first go into details as to why and how this entire fiasco occurred and that is impossibly by telling the ending prior to a clear understanding of the beginning. Because as every one knows all stories have them, all stories have a beginning. . . .
